Bvubvubvubvu... Hot Dog, where are you....

Animatic update

I havent been able to put all the animations rexis has given me, but ill do that tomorrow. I dont have time to work on it anymore tonight unfortuantely, but this should be a close idea to what the final will be, minus some affects. also be prepared for one more scene during the dream sequence. I dont know if i ll have time to make it but if i do... oh boy.

Scene16

I've done as much as I can with this.

We will need buildings at the beginning. Otherwise, a cheat would be to use a colour card instead of a blue sky. Or the colour card could fade in as speed lines appear.

Sexy Hot Dog

Minus the mustard.

Scene 8 Dog Close-Up

Dog close up (Scene 8). The PSD file allows for the sparkly bits and the shine in his eyes to change shape and fade in/out.

Also if you want his eyebrow can raise?

Scene 5 & 6

Hamburger, dawg.

Okay so theres a lot of changes in this one, in terms of pacing. I decided it was feeling a bit rushed during the gazing scene. Also i thought to cut one of the gaze shots out.  So in order, we have : 1. Reaction shot(scene 6), 2. First shot of Hot dog guy(scene 7). 3. Detailed shot of Dog(scene 8), 4. detailed shot of hotdog guy(scene 9), and that will transition into the dream

Since I sped up the tempo, it naturally changes the pace of it, so this is still a lot faster than what we originally had it at. One thing to note as well, is that in the beginning we now introduce the dog as the car drives into frame.  Thoughts?

Color scheme

countryside background

emotion, dawg.

Scene10_02

Erotic mustard pouring scene. I can send this out as an .fla so it can be comped. Any thoughts?

Scene12_03: Hot diggity dog!

The only issue left on this is the colours. Who would like to determine the palette? Maybe we should wait for the cleanup and bg's on other scenes before finalising a colour sceme.

I also think hotdog should blink?

Please let me know your thoughts.

Back seat

I included the lower part of the seat, just to give a bit more flexibility - if we decide to show the whole of the dog, as opposed to just the head, then we should be able to still do that.

Scene12_02: Hahaha, Dork!

I started cleaning up. I had to work in Adobe Flash instead of Macromedia Flash, which is slowing me down, but I am slowly getting the hang of it. Somehow when I make a preview, Adobe decides to render those nodes. Annoying!

The dog is such a dork! I hope the voice acting works well with this.

Still have to place the .png spotlight. I can also place a pan if it is necessary. Better to do it in Flash than AE.

Scene12_01

Thanks Stu, nice background!

I overlaid the new draft of ruff animation on top of the BG. Note how the dog's animation doesn't fit with the BG; this is why I prefer to have a BG before cleaning up animation. I can easily adjust the animation this time.

I noticed on the animatic that this is a panning shot. This means that the BG will need to be wider to accomodate the camera movement.

Stu, is this an Illustrator image? I can take the Illustrator file, place it in Flash and animate the characters and camera movement. This saves having to do the pan in AfterEffects, and avoids any issue of resizing or pixelating. It will also be easier to layer elements instead of making complicated masks. I can also extend the BG and add chairs behind the characters. The only other thing would be to fit the hot dog in the scene. Who is taking care of this?

Please comment on animation.

Thanks everyone, the more BG's that have the dog in that are completed, the more clean-up I can do.

Rex - if the positioning of the buildings isn't quite right, let me know and I can shift them around a little.

Animation Progress 03

Please note:

-sc05 was flipped for better continuity
-16 17 and 18 will need discussion
-Stu, if any bg's are complete for any of these scenes, I would like to see them so I can clean up some animation and fit it with the bg.
-Please comment so I have more direction.

Thanks

Animation Progress 02

I will upload collections of scenes together instead of separately. Please let me know your thoughts on action, staging, or whatever you have in mind so I have more direction to go into. Scene numbers are on the top right.

Will it be possible to upload progress on animatics too so it will be easier to view and comment?

Scene 7 Close Up

Yeah so here's a close up for Scene 7. Thoughts? I was under the impression that the art style for some of them were to purposefully look different than the rest of the animation, so I ran with that idea.

Scene 19 ruff

Scene 19 ruff.

Scene 04 ruff

Scene 04 ruff.

Scene 02 ruff

Okay guys, I assumed that the dog was riding in the front passenger's seat. The next three scenes were roughed out in that way. Is this correct? Will scenes need to be changed to compensate?

Scene 12 ruff

Scene 12 ruff. Depending on the time given to this scene, I may or may not have the dog panting while the hotdog is not looking. When Hotdog is looking, Dog will put on his dateface. Discuss!

Scene 10 ruff

Scene 10. Dog restaged to show more panting action. Animation will be adjusted once scene length is set.
